Plant the Seed of Respect

Parent will do good if they plant the seed of respect in their children. Respect is a two-way street, one must respect the children too. When does respect start and what is respect? As defined in the Merriam Webster Dictionary, respect[1] is “a feeling or understanding that someone or something is important, serious, etc., and should be treated in an appropriate way.” So, how to plant the seed of respect. As grown human being, we should have the seed of respect already as a matured plant in ourselves. For the purpose of this writing, the main target is the parents and teachers, but respect is an important virtue for all humans of all ages. We must respect ourselves, others, and to our children. The child needs to see the example of respect coming from the parent. It has to be role modeled. Love and respect is at the core of all.

When does respect start. As soon as the child is born, and shown in everything done, even when it takes to say, “I am sorry.” The seed of respect is planted in love. Respect will seek to understand another person and will be shown in how that person is treated. The trust is gained and the connection is established to help nurture the growing human being.
